Boss Fighters is an upcoming free-to-play, asymmetrical multiplayer action & shooter game for PC (Windows) and VR (all), where one player takes the role of a powerful boss-monster, while other players team up against it – for spectators’ amusement, ranks and valuable loot. The game features asymmetrical PvP, physics-based interactions including destructible environment, streaming features, extensive customization options, and play to earn mechanisms. Boss Fighters integrates blockchain technology (Ethereum) to record and secure ownership of digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFT assets (e.g. characters, equipment, cosmetics) and cryptocurrency. Boss Fighters has its own currency ($BFT), which serves as an in-game reward and crafting resource.

Blockchain Integration

Boss Fighters features a partially player-owned economy, as players can effectively own and trade most in-game digital assets (e.g. characters, equipment, skins, currency) outside of the game. Smart contracts built on the Ethereum blockchain are used to record and secure transactions and true ownership of all such digital assets. Boss Fighters has its own cryptocurrency, $BFT, which mostly serves as an in-game reward and resource.
Boss Fighters doesn’t appear to be open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game on their own in the event that its online service is shut down.
