Nyan Heroes is a free-to-play team-based multiplayer hero shooter (FPS) by 9 Lives Interactive for PC (Windows). Players take on the role of cats piloting giant mechs in New Nekovia, a city with holographic skies. The core game features team-based gameplay, 8 character classes, switching between cat & mech forms during play, customizable gear to collect, craft and trade, play to earn mechanisms, and ranked leaderboards. Nyan Heroes integrates blockchain technology (Solana) to record and secure ownership of digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFT assets (e.g. characters, weapons, skins) and cryptocurrency. Nyan Heroes has its own currency ($NYAN), NFT marketplace, and decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
Game Features
- Team-Based Battles: Two teams compete to secure various objectives on the map and win the match. Each session is an electrifying battle lasting 15-20 minutes.
- Cats & Mechs: Players can fight in both cat and mech forms and switch roles during combat to use distinct abilities and tactics.
- Character Classes: Players will initially be able to choose from 8 Guardian classes (warrior, defender, assassin, sniper, scout, medic, mechanic, solider), each with their own unique abilities.
- Gear Customization: Players collect and craft various tradable gear and mods to customize their mech and explore varied strategic playstyles.
- Virtual World: Player base hub where they can create their own digital identity and showcase their assets, collectibles, and various achievements.
- PVE Adventures: Solo and cooperative quests set in a story-rich universe where players can level up their characters and unlock new abilities.
- Free-to-Play: The game is expected to be free, including the ability to progress and mint a character NFT (standard Guardian NFT) for increased rewards including cryptocurrency.
- Play-to-Earn: Rewards may be earned in the form of NFTs (e.g. characters) and cryptocurrency ($NYN) .
Blockchain Integration
WhitepaperNyan Heroes features partially decentralized governance using DAOs, and a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade most in-game digital assets (e.g. characters, weapons, skins, currency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Solana blockchain to record and secure transactions and ownership of said assets. Nyan Heroes also has its own cryptocurrency, $NYAN, which serves as a reward token, a DAO governance token and as a means of payment for various fees.
Nyan Heroes isn’t open source. While ownership of digital assets and governance are decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
Ownable (NFTs)
- Characters & Parts: NFT characters and parts thereof that players can purchase or receive as reward in-game.
- Weapons & Parts: NFT weapons and parts thereof that players can purchase or receive as reward in-game.
- Cosmetic Skins: NFT skins that players can purchase or receive as reward in-game.
- Raw Materials: NFT-backed resources that players collect in-game to upgrade and craft items.
- Decorative Items: NFT items that players may purchase or collect and craft in-game to decorate a player base.
- Land: Players may own land to access extra features which have not been outlined yet.
Cryptocurrency
$NYAN is Nyan Heroes’ cryptocurrency. It serves as a DAO governance token, providing holders the right to propose feedback on future game features and upgrades.
