Nexus is a free-to-play third-person multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) shooter for PC (Windows) by Playa3ull Games. The game emphasizes strategic team-based gameplay, where players engage in 5v5 matchups with the objective of defending their own Nexus while attempting to destroy the enemy’s base. Each match allows players to customize their characters, selecting from an array of weapons, abilities, and equipment and can adapt their strategies mid-game, switching loadouts to better counter their opponents or assist their teammates. Nexus employs blockchain technology (Playa3ull, Avalanche) to record and secure ownership of in-game assets such as NFTs (e.g. skins, PFPs, pass) and cryptocurrency ($3ULL).

- Third-Person MOBA: NEXUS incorporates fast-paced third-person combat, where teams compete to defend their Nexus and push toward enemy towers. This strategic gameplay mirrors traditional MOBA structures while emphasizing shooter dynamics.

DocumentsNexus features some form of decentralized governance through DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) and a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade many in-game digital assets (e.g. weapons, armor, items, cryptocurrency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Playa3ull and Avalanche blockchains to record and secure transactions and ownership of said assets. The game also has its own cryptocurrency, $3ULL, which serves as a primary in-game currency, a reward token and a governance token.
Nexus is not open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
Ownable (NFTs)
- Skins: These NFTs allow players to unlock and use exclusive in-game skins. Once purchased, the skin can be applied to a player’s character during matches. Additionally, players can set their Nexus skin as their profile picture.
- Profile Pictures: Fully customizable profile picture NFTs, allowing holders to select from over two billion combinations of traits and attributes. Limited to 3,333 units, these NFTs also grant unique benefits within the NEXUS ecosystem.
- VI3 Pass: Soul-bound NFT granting special privileges within the Playa3ull Games ecosystem, such as early access to games, exclusive in-game skins, and other unique benefits.
- Reward Chests: These chests randomly drop at the end of games and can be unlocked by purchasing a key. Opening a chest grants players a randomized NFT skin with unique in-game effects.
Cryptocurrency
$3ULL serves as the primary currency for the Playa3ull Games ecosystem, including NEXUS. It is designed as a deflationary cryptocurrency with a built-in burn mechanism and is used as a medium of exchange for in-game purchases and marketplace transactions, and as a reward token, a DeFi token (staking, nodes) and a governance token, granting DAO voting rights.
