Engines of Fury (EoF) is a free-to-play top-down extraction shooter for PC (Windows) set in a bleak, post-apocalyptic world dominated by mutants and hostile environments. Players scavenge for resources, confront both AI-controlled monsters and other players, and make strategic choices to survive and return with loot. The game’s PvPvE mechanics create high-stakes scenarios where players risk losing all acquired items if defeated, enhancing the tension and sense of reward. Additionally, Engines of Fury integrates blockchain technology (Ethereum/BSC) to record and secure ownership of optional game-related digital assets such as NFTs (e.g. characters, weapons, gear, housing) and cryptocurrency ($FURY).

Game Features

  • High-Stakes Loot: Death in-game results in the loss of all items in the player’s inventory and selected equipped items, making each run a risk-reward calculation.
  • PvPvE: Players encounter both AI enemies and other players in the same environment, When a player dies, they drop a backpack with their inventory, which others can loot.
  • Co-op Mode: Support for squads of up to four players, allowing cooperative exploration in tougher map variants with greater rewards. Co-op teams only compete against other teams.
  • Crafting & Upgrading: Players can craft an extensive range of equipment, consumables, and higher-tier materials using scavenged resources. Materials can be traded to meet crafting needs.
  • RPG Itemization: An expansive item pool with unique affix systems uncommon in extraction shooters, allowing players to build distinct character setups and fine-tune gear attributes.
  • Scavenging Mechanics: Scavenging is essential for resource gathering, with procedurally generated maps filled with loot, weapons, and armor guarded by monsters.
  • Mission-Based Narrative: Missions serve as key objectives, driving story progression. They include tasks like fetching items, killing specific enemies, protecting areas, sealing wall breaches, and investigating events.
  • Customizations: Deep customization system letting players modify each piece of equipment, create unique builds, and upgrade hideouts.

Blockchain Integration

Engines of Fury features a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade various optional game-related digital assets (e.g. characters, housing, gear, cryptocurrency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Ethereum and BSC blockchains to record and secure transactions thereof. The game also has its own cryptocurrency, $FURY, which serves as a medium of exchange, as an in-game reward token, and as a DeFi token.
Engines of Fury is not open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.

Ownable (NFTs)

  • Characters: These are upgradeable playable characters, customizable to improve combat skills and abilities, allowing players to adapt their characters to various playstyles and mission demands.
  • Weapons: Equipable weapons that can be upgraded to boost attributes like damage and accuracy. Customizable to suit player strategies, upgraded weapons offer both higher performance and trade value.
  • Armor: Wearable armor NFTs providing defensive boosts. Players can upgrade these for improved protection and resilience, essential for tackling tougher enemies and missions.
  • Housing: Representing players’ hideouts, these NFTs serve as central hubs where players craft, upgrade gear, level up, and strategize. House NFTs can be enhanced to unlock more crafting options and personalized features.
  • Engine Keys: Limited series NFT passes (x250) granting exclusive benefits, including closed alpha/beta and a unique rewards pool for holders in events and reward campaigns (view on opensea).

Cryptocurrency

$FURY is the primary currency for Engines of Fury, facilitating transactions, earning rewards, and unlocking customization options. Players use $FURY to trade and rent NFTs, purchase unique cosmetic upgrades, and access special game features.
