Axie Infinity: Origins is a free-to-play online tactical card-battler for PC (Windows, Mac) and mobile (Android, iOS) by Sky Mavis. It is an upgraded version of Axie Infinity: Classic. Axie Infinity: Origins is not open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
Ownable (NFTs)

$AXS is a cryptocurrency used in the Axie Infinity ecosystem, which includes Axie Infinity: Origins. $AXS serves as a governance token, providing holders voting power in key decisions, is integrated into play-to-earn mechanics, where players can earn $AXS upon specific in-game achievements, and also serves as a medium of exchange for transactions in the Axie marketplace.
