Big Time is a multiplayer action-adventure RPG for PC (Windows), integrating blockchain technology (Ethereum) to record and secure ownership of digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFT assets (e.g. space, workshops, weapons, armor, emotes, decorations) and cryptocurrency. The game features 6 classes, procedurally generated environments, play to earn mechanisms, and players can have their own, customizable space. Big Time has its own currency ($BIGTIME), which serves as an in-game reward and crafting resource.
While being marketed as free to play, Big Time is currently in closed beta, with access to the game being restricted to those who own one of various VIP access passes, and those who redeem one of the many invite codes posted on social media (e.g. Discord, Reddit, Twitch).
Game Features
- Procedurally Generated: Big Time uses procedural generation algorithms to create unique environments, objectives, and enemies so that every adventure instance is different.
- 6 Character Classes: Players can choose from 6 character classes with distinct abilities including melee, range, stealth and support.

- Play-to-Earn: Rewards may be earned in the form of cryptocurrency and NFTs. $BIGTIME randomly drops in-game (provided that a specific item is equipped). NFTs may also be earned by playing, or crafted in-game using $BIGTIME and/or other materials collected.
- Free-to-Play: Players will be able to enjoy the game’s main campaign and quests, and may earn collectible NFT equipment as rare loot, without spending money.

DocumentsBig Time features a partially player-owned economy, as players can effectively own and trade many game-related digital assets (e.g. space, wearables, workshops, currency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Ethereum blockchain to record and secure transactions and ownership thereof. Big Time has its own cryptocurrency, $BIGTIME, which mostly serves as an in-game reward and resource.
Big time doesn’t appear to be open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
Ownable (NFTs)
- Space: NFT-backed virtual land used to expand a player’s personal “metaverse” with workshops (e.g. forges and armories), decoration collectibles, and the ability to host friends (+ info).
- Wearables: Collectible utility/cosmetic NFT equipment (weapons, armor, emotes) that can be crafted or earned in-game to customize a player’s appearance (+ info).
- Workshops: Collectible NFT manufacturing units (e.g. forge, armory) that can be purchased or earned in-game (rare loot) to craft utility/cosmetic wearables (+ info).
Cryptocurrency
$BIGTIME is Big Time’s cryptocurrency. Its main purpose in the game is to reward players of Big Time and to be used as a resource for crafting NFT collectibles.
