Parallel is a sci-fi themed collectible card game (CCG) for PC (Windows) and browser. It is part of the Echelon ecosystem. The core game features 5 unique factions, several PVP and PVE modes, hand drawn cards, strategic depth, extensive lore, and play to earn mechanisms. Parallel integrates blockchain technology (Ethereum) to record and secure ownership of digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFT assets (e.g. cards, avatars, skins, emotes) and cryptocurrency. Parallel has its own currency ($PRIME), NFT marketplace, and decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
Game Features
- Five Unique Factions: Players can choose from 5 unique factions and 15 leaders (Paragons) with their own active/passive abilities to customize play style.
- Several Game Modes: Different game modes are available including unranked, AI, rookie, ranked and tournament modes.
- Banking Mechanic: Players strategically choose which cards to bank each turn, gaining energy that allows them to play units, relics, effects, and upgrades.
- Hand-Drawn Cards: Real artists behind the design and production of the collectible cards.
- Free to Play: Players can play most game modes and earn non-NFT cards to build their deck(s) for free. They may also participate in giveaway events.
- Play to Earn: Players may earn cryptocurrency when they use NFTs in-game.
Blockchain Integration
DocumentsParallel features decentralized governance through DAO protocols, and a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade most in-game digital assets (e.g. cards, avatars, skins, emotes, currency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Ethereum blockchain to record and secure transactions and ownership of said assets. Parallel also has its own cryptocurrency, $PRIME, which serves as a medium of exchange, a player reward token, and a DAO governance token.
Parallel isn’t open source. While ownership of digital assets and governance are decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is shut down prematurely.
Ownable (NFTs)
- Cards: Collectible NFT cards drawn by real artists, with gameplay attributes.
- Avatars: Collectible NFT avatars with gameplay and cosmetic attributes.
- Terminals: NFT-backed utility items allowing, inter alia, collectors access to companions.
- Companions: Collectible NFT objects with gameplay and cosmetic attributes.
- Skins & Emotes: Collectible NFT skins and animations used to customize a player or character’s appearance.
- Comics: Collectible NFT comics written and drawn by the team, covering/expanding on the Parallel lore.
Cryptocurrency
$PRIME is Parallel’s cryptocurrency, and that of the Echelon gaming ecosystem. It serves as a medium of exchange for collectible and utility NFTs on the Parallel shop, as a player reward token distributed in-game, and as a DAO governance token, providing holders a share of voting rights on proposals shaping the Echelon ecosystem.
