Xenna is a free-to-play, card-based, real-time strategy (RTS) battle royale game for PC (Windows) and mobile (iOS, Android) set on a post-apocalyptic planet scarred by a catastrophic asteroid impact. Players compete in fast-paced six-minute matches, commanding unique robotic units to outlast and outmanoeuvre opponents in ten-player battles. Players must employ strategic planning by managing resources, adapting to the terrain, and leveraging unit abilities to emerge victorious. Xenna is part of the Web3-powered Sidus gaming ecosystem, comprising a series of separate but interconnected games (e.g. XXXXX), which integrates blockchain technology (Ethereum/Immutable X) to record and secure ownership of game-related digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFTs (e.g. characters, cosmetics) and cryptocurrency, as well as to support decentralized decision-making.
Game Features
- Card-Based RTS: Players utilize a deck of over 30 unique ability cards to build their strategies. These cards allow for dynamic combinations and tactical decisions tailored to each encounter, ensuring replayability.
- Diverse Robotic Units: Each robot is distinct, offering specialized abilities and playstyles. Players control their units from orbit, crafting unique strategies to defeat rivals on the battlefield.
- Battle Royale Mechanics: The game incorporates the survival elements of battle royale gameplay, challenging participants to adapt their tactics and outlast competitors to secure the position of the last survivor.
- Progression and Upgrades: Robots can be levelled up on the Path of Levels, unlocking new skills and abilities. As players progress, they gain access to more powerful units and tactical options.
- Expanding Content: Xenna continues to evolve with new abilities and game modes, providing ongoing challenges and opportunities for growth.
Blockchain Integration
Xenna features a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade game-related digital assets (e.g. equipment, cryptocurrency) outside of the game using smart contracts built on the Ethereum blockchain (via Ronin) to record and secure every transaction and ownership thereof. The game is also tied to the broader web3 gaming ecosystem Sidus, which uses two cryptocurrencies: $SIDUS, which serves as a medium of exchange and reward token, and $SENATE, the DAO governance token.
Xenna is not open source. While ownership of digital assets may be decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
