Golden Tides is a free-to-play fantasy pirate multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game for PC (Windows), with other systems planned, by Psychedelic Games. It features a competitive gameplay environment where players form crews and compete against 15 other teams in a series of quest-driven races for treasure. The game’s core mechanics revolve around exploration, strategy, and ground/naval battles, with a focus on treasure hunting and crew management. Additionally, Golden Tides integrates optional blockchain technology (Arbitrum), to record and secure ownership of in-game assets such as NFTs (e.g. skins, ships, pets, mounts) and cryptocurrency (pending).

Blockchain Integration
Golden Tides features a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade many optional in-game digital assets (e.g. skins, ships, pets, mounts, cryptocurrency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Arbitrum blockchain to record and secure transactions thereof. The game also plans to have its own cryptocurrency.
Golden Tides is not open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
