Shutdown is a free-to-play coop/multiplayer top down action shooter coming to PC and mobile by Garage Studios Inc. Set in a dystopian future, the game offers players an immersive journey through a world ravaged by societal collapse. Shutdown’s core game features strategic combat, exploration, and resource management in a dynamic world where player choices significantly impact the narrative and game environment. Players can form alliances, gather resources, and partake in missions that influence their progression and story development. Shutdown integrates blockchain technology (Ethereum, Polygon) to record and secure ownership of digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFT assets (e.g. characters, weapons, skins) and cryptocurrency ($FUSE).

Blockchain Integration
Shutdown features partially decentralized governance using DAOs, and a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade digital assets (e.g. characters, weapons, items, currency) outside of the game, using smart contracts built on the Ethereum blockchain (including Polygon) to record and secure transactions and ownership of said assets. Shutdown also has its own cryptocurrency, $FUSE, which mostly serves as a medium of exchange, a reward token and a DAO governance token.
Shutdown isn’t open source. While ownership of digital assets and governance are decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
